Based
on a recent study, Thai Airways have almost received international travelers
averaging 92% growth since last year. Asia Pacific region and especially Thailand remains the most popular
destination for tourists.
According
to Thai Airways executive, Thailand
cities sees a lot of visitors ranging from couples, friends groups, honeymoon
holidays, Families and also solo backpackers, whether within the country or
overseas. Moreover, the study discovers that most travel in groups with a huge
71% with their family or spouse in tow. A significant percentage 38%, travel
with their buddies as against global average of 19%.
The
most recent study also reveals that travelers are becoming more internet savvy
than even before, making their travel bookings mostly online. Online
transactions like booking trips does make sense especially when you don't have
the luxury of time to go out and stuff your wallet with large amount of cash
and head to a shop.
Short-haul
flights comprise the bulk of air travels most travelers to Thailand take. This is not surprising as Thailand shares land
borders with peninsular Malaysia, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos. Travels to nearby
countries make up more than half of their travels abroad. Budget airlines,
understandably, serve most of their trips to these countries. Most travelers
come from big cities and towns who want to get away from the hustle and bustle
of the urban life mostly during weekends and holidays.
In a
similar survey, visitors to Thailand are likely to extend their stay, travel
within the country and spend more as a result. A huge percentage of visitors to
Thailand come from Asia Pacific region and intend to travel again to the
country in the future.
